Those Games You Play With a Ball.

I haven’t blogged a thing in quite a few days, because well, there has not been a lot to talk about that’s new or different. Besides the hateful filled week at work this week. I worked three ten hours days and one day over twelve hours. Which made Friday even more annoying when people were still giving shit for stations not getting stuff considering how late I worked all week. This shitty week has caused a new fire and ferocity in me that has created an amazing amount of output. I love it. I also consider I’m doing the company a favor by staying this late, considering my salary, it is neither worth my time to do anything more than the bare minimum for this company. I’m actually doing them a favor by putting in time they don’t pay me enough to do. This week I go shopping for head-hunters to get me something better.

I digress, I don’t feel like writing any longer about my dissatisfaction with my nine to five, and I can pretty much guarantee none of you want to read it. Instead I’ll write about something I actually enjoy, that I haven’t written about in quite some time: sports.

Currently, I’m watching the Bills play the Jets. My friends and I have taken bets that the Bills will win a grand total of two games this season. Wracked by injuries already in the fourth week of football, and its looking good that we’ll get the top draft pick this year. The good news is that J.P. Losman is out of there now, with an injury and rookie QB Trent Edwards is looking pretty sharp. He is absolutely more confident than Losman with the passing game, I feel like Losman has a lot of that Rob Johnson indecisiveness that makes me cringe. I wish there was another way I could watch the Bills without having to go to a bar on Sunday. I like spending my Sundays at home, as I am right now, with my laptop on my lap and watching football. Cooking up some wings with Frank’s red hot and chilling out, but without getting dish, if I want to watch the Bills I have to go to a bar. Which is the last place I want to be considering Saturday nights are a night out.

Is it me or does Edwards also look like this guy? And fuck…Edwards got intercepted in the end zone. Shit. But now they are breaking through, Christ, this the first time I’ve watched Lynch, he is strong. He broke through for that touch down with four guys pulling on him. Hell yeah.

I’m going to pick up tickets to the Bills/Jets game on October 28. That will be fun. The Bills are playing Dallas in Buffalo next Monday night. That’s going to be a helluva game especially if Losman isn’t starting. Sureshot just referred to Losman being as good as a hair on Rob Johnson’s dick, which is probably a far more insulting analogy than I could ever put together.

All I have to say that after beating the Jets, I like the Bills way more under Trent Edwards.

Yesterday, Frank, Bridget and I went to the Mets game. I am so ashamed to admit that this was the first baseball game I’ve been to in the 2007 season. At the end of the season. In the almost three years I’ve lived in New York, I’ve been averaging about twelve to fifteen games a season between the Yankees and the Mets. Don’t get me wrong: I love baseball, probably my favorite sport in the world, but my team is the Yankees. However, every time I make it to the Mets game its always a pitching gem. Yesterday was no different when the 14-10 John Maine had a perfect game through seven innings and had a no hitter into the eighth. A great and fun game, that even included a fight.

I’d also like to say something towards the Yankees. I am so relieved that we are playing the Indians in the first round of the playoffs, because in the Joe Torre era we are not good against the Angels. Anyway, I hope we can make something happen in the playoffs considering we’ve probably been the hottest team in baseball in the last month.

And I’m going to love the Winter meetings taking place with no one signing Barry Bonds.

  • I wonder how practice for the Bills went down last week. What with Trent Edwards from Stanford, and Marshawn Lynch from Cal playing together for a team on the otherside of the country, and helping each other to get the win. Thought that was the coolest thing coming out of that game this weekend.
